You can try taking : A supplement called biotin. I'm not sure it will help the toenail grow faster but it is supposed to be a good supplement to improve health of skin, hair or nails. I would avoid the fake nail only because usually to attach that fake nail you are likely using some sort of glue/chemical that is harsh to the skin/nail.

Waiting Game.: Rather difficult to say, without knowing the nature of the toe surgery performed. Surgery on your nail may have permanently stunted your nail, by design.
