Severe medical issue: not to scare you but an infected tooth is not to be taken lightly. People have actually died from such things and an infection in the mouth is an infection in the body as it can reach certain "danger" areas of the head/neck that will lead to extreme medical issues besides the tooth itself. please get help ASAP

Ludwig's Angina: If a tooth abscess if left untreated it can grow and cause facial swelling called cellulitis. If the swelling increase under the jaw it can cause Ludwig's angina, block off the airway and suffocate the patient. See a DDS for treatment.
