When we: exercise...especially without the proper "stretching" og our muscles prior to the exercise we "break" microscopic blood vessels and they bleed a very very small amount of blood! This is like an INTERNAL bruise!!! We call it a "charliehorse" or STIFFNESS! Your joints are YOUNG and have CARTILAGE which is LIVING TISSUE!! Same rules apply! Hope this helps! Dr Z
