Neuropathy: Localized sensation of skin burning most likely is secondary to compression or irritation of a local nerve that provides sensation to the area of skin affected. You may or may not recall any precipitating factors. Likely the discomfort will be temporary, but if it persists or worsens you will need to see a physician.
