Recommend follow up: with doctor to reassess. Hemorrhoids are usually caused by constipation, and if your son is still having large infrequent stools, then there may be recurrent fissures or a new hemorrhoid, but the original surgery should have healed by now. If BM's are soft, then other causes should be considered.

Odd diagnosis: I never saw a hemorrhoid in a kid in more than 30 years of practice. Perhaps there is a terminology/translation issue. 5 yo's pass blood in their stool from anal fissures, and these can heal with a skin tag that can look like a hemorrhoid. Any surgery on the area will not change the stooling problem that triggered the fissure. Working to keep stools soft for months may fix this.
