Salt is the issue.: There are plenty of low-calorie options for frozen dinners. However, in order to flavor the foods while keeping them "healthy", they tend to have less fat and more sodium. Plus, I believe the sodium helps to preserve the food anyway. So it will be difficult to avoid the sodium in low-fat frozen dinners. Better to cook a lot and save, getting several dinners out of your efforts.
