A member asked:

Is getting a period 2 weeks after trigger shot proof that an egg was released? or would a period happen regardless?

Monitoring: Getting a period 14 days after a ovulation trigger injection is a probable indicator of ovulation but this is not how fertility treatments are monitored. Typically the dominant follicle is tracked by sonography prior to injection. Then a Progesterone blood test is done 7 days later to reliably indicate if ovulation occurred.
