Too much pain: If it is dislocated you could not even move it and the pain is unbearable if you have doubt see a doctor for X ray

Traumatic injury.: You'd have to have a traumatic injury to dislocate your shoulder, and you'd probably be in an emergency room, having it put back in place. See a cervical spine specialist, who can sort things out.
