Hyperglycemia: Acute elevation of the blood sugar itself wouldn't cause this symptom, but prolonged hyperglycemia due to poor diabetic control can lead to a type of neuritis causing arm pain and parasthesia. Another serious cause would be a type of stroke from atherosclerotic blockage of an artery in your neck or brain. Get examined and treated by your MD ASAP who may also refer you to a neurologist as well
