Gastritis: Gastritis is due to inflammation of the stomach lining and may or may not cause vomiting. If you feel that you have symptoms of an inflamed stomach lining, follow a bland diet, avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. Take an antacid like mylanta or maalox as needed. If you can take it, a daily prilosec is very effective. See your physician if symptoms persist. Drinking flat ginger ale helps nausea.
