No difference: However, there is no such thing as best medication or worst medication, only those that work and do not work, based on the patient's individual circumstances and genetics. Follow your doctor's treatment instructions.

My opinion: Amitriptyline is a older drug with loads of side effects, such as drowsiness, blurring of vision, mouth dryness, and difficulty urinating. It has limited pain control benefit. Lyrica (pregabalin) is the newer more effective, and proven so, drug, but also has side effects such as drowsiness, weight gain, ankle swelling. Lyrica (pregabalin) is far more expensive
