Hay fever: Hay fever is also known as allergic rhinitis related to pollen. Since avoidance of pollens is not really very practical, most people have relief with anithistamines (allegra, claritin, zyrtec). If symptoms are not controlled, the most effective treatment is topical nasal steroids sprays (qnasl, flonase, nasonex, (mometasone) etc). For the best long term treatment, allergy injections are useful.
