A member asked:

I've had ringworm for about 7 years and my husband has had foot fungus since little. can that be transmitted to our baby when pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No fetal transmissio: Ringworm and athlete's foot type fungal infections are not to spread through the placenta to the developing baby. They are spread more from skin contact. Both ringworm and athletes foot respond to topical and oral medications, and if those have been used consistently without resolving, I would question the diagnosis.
