Hand eczema is most: likely the cause, and the skin on the palms will often look thickened and creased. Food or contact allergy is also possible, and the most common foods are milk, wheat, nuts, peanuts, shellfish and eggs, so before limiting one's diet, it is advised to get allergy testing, or do one elimination at a time. In addition to the: oral antihistamines (Benadryl) at night and topical 1% hydrocortisone cream, you can also try Aquaphor (more of an ointment) and if she'll keep them on, cotton gloves over that. Please talk to her pediatrician so that you can show him/her what the palms look like, if these treatments aren't helping.
