Infection?: You are protected from pregnancy by the Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone). The brown discharge may just be blood related to the episode of intercourse; however, if it persists, you should see a doctor to make sure you don't have an infection.

You are probably OK: If your last intramuscular injection of 150mg of Depo-Provera was within the past 12 weeks your risk of pregnancy is about 5 % and the risk of a STI depends on your sex partner(s)' sexual health. If you are very concerned and really need to find out, a pregnancy test and a Gyn screening for STIs would be the only ways to know for sure .
