I presume you: had a metatarsal stress fracture. It sounds like the ORIF was done to try to deal with slow healing in the first place. Factors which contribute to non-union (non-healing) are limited blood supply, infection, build up of periosteum, underlying conditions (diabetes, low vitamin D, osteoporosis,steroids, etc). All you can do is continue to work with your surgeon; consider 2nd opinion.Hang in there:)
