A member asked:

I noticed a vein on the middle of my hand protrude out a little. it's hard to the touch. this is near an iv site. is this a collapse vein? or phlebi

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Phlebitis: Most likely this is a superficial phlebitis related to the irritation from the iv needle. It's not dangerous and in time will become less distended but could remain permanently scarred.
