A member asked:

How far true is it that when a tubal pregnancy ruptures the fetus may attach itself to a more suitable area where it may survive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tubal abortion: This is a very rare occurrence whereby the fertilized ovum "aborts" from the Fallopian tube and exits the open end and then attaches to an intra-abdominal structure such as the intestines, lining of the body cavity(peritoneum) or bladder. This is called an abdominal pregnancy as it exists outside of the uterus. If it goes to term a C/section is done and the placenta is left in place to "dissolve."
