Yes: The Achilles' tendon is formed from the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles which attach to the back of your calf and run from behind the knee to the ankle/ foot. Injury to this area can affect the whole area. I assume the muscle tendon attachment was not injured as well, but if you have not seen a sports doc, please get an accurate diagnosis. Topical and oral NSAIDs, icing, rest. are the treatments
