sharp stinging pain in my achilles tendon not my calf. this after many months of power walking. pain is great but only lasts for a few seconds.

Rest: sounds like you have tendinitis. You should give it some time to recover rest, use ice and try some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications if you don't get better over a period of 10 to 14 days you should probably be examined
