Heel Spurs: Heel spurs are painless and and a doctor's excuse for not understanding the cause. The only spurs that MAY hurt are behind and above the heel. Spurs are benign calcifications of muscle origins and cannot hurt. Notice they are nowhere near the floor. A bursa under your heel is the usual cause. Use a 3/16" media heel wedge with a solid countered shoe and a gel pad. Obesity aggravates it.

Classic Mis-step.: Without getting into a debate as to the theories of heel pain, one thing is certain. Medication alone, rarely, if ever, works in successfully treating one's heel pain, when caused by typical plantar fasciitis. This is an over use problem aggravated by age, mechanics and support. Unless all the issues are addressed, the problem just keeps getting worse until the pain severely limits your overuse.
