You know, the best: doctor for this is someone who has an interest in female sexual function and takes the time to understand your specific situation. There is some testing, mostly hormonal, that can be done but most help is obtained from someone taking the time to explore the woman's/couple's experience, feelings and attitudes toward sex. The challenge is finding that therapist. Ask your doctor for suggestions.

Either doc: Either specialty is a good beginning to evaluate this problem. Depending what the original findings show, will depend on the follow up type of physician for treatment. attention should also be directed to any emotional or psychologic problems that may be present.

Low sex drive: Causes of low sex drive in people are so varied I would start with the Family physician who knows the couple. it can be relative to a high sex drive in the male or unhappiness, fatigue, disease or, G-d forbid, a poor lover. The verdict is still out on the female Viagra (sildenafil). A sex therapist is a fair alternative. Check the Yellow Pages.
