Concussion : Concussion is an injury to the brain that may result after blunt force or an acceleration/deceleration head injury. Its occurrence is most obvious when the individual has experienced brief loss of consciousness or demonstrates overt confusion or amnesia. Subtler degrees of neurologic impairment are common and may be unrecognized by the patient.
