Probably positive: Your partner probably has HSV2. With the initial test index 3.90, I'm wondering why Western blot was even done; values over 3.5 usually are conclusive. WB interpretation is somewhat subjective; the tech examines fuzzy lines on a test strip. The doc who ordered the test could call the lab directly (U of Wash Clinical Lab) and discuss with the senior technician. Or maybe just repeat the WB test.
