A member asked:

How bad is methamphetamine compared to opiates?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult comparison: It's a very different drug from the opiates and is more more akin to cocaine in that it causes strain on the heart and vascular system and leads to a spike in blood pressure. Can cause acute heart attack or arrythmia in someone prone to such. Has a strong addictive potential. Immediate danger depends on the dose, how it's taken and purity which varies wildly as most of it is home-made.
