Depends on type: There are two types of vertigo: peripheral vertigo, which is caused by an inner ear problem (infection or fluid, for example) and central vertigo, which can be caused by a stroke in the back part of the brain. An ENT can help rule out a peripheral cause of vertigo, while a neurologist can help rule out a central cause of vertigo.
