I have pain in top of big toe joint. feels like something small is floating around above joint. been over a year. heavy activity makes it worse. ideas?

Big Toe Pain: Good morning. If there is a history of trauma, their is a higher incidence of early arthritic conditions such as Hallux Limitus that cause bone spurs to form in the big toe joint, limit motion, cause "bumps" to occur over the joint, and cause more pain with activity. An x-ray would be taken to evaluate the joint and surrounding bony structures.
