Break through bleedi: Well some people do get a lot of breakthrough bleeding with the depo shot. So perhaps you should talk to your doctor about other birth control options

Irregular bleeding: Irregular bleeding tends to be worse initially then decreases with ongoing regular use of the depo shot. About half of women who continue the shot for 1 year will stop having periods entirely (which is safe; they restart after the shot wears off).
