Can anyone tell me if a medicine called talwin (pentazocine) is a good pain medication ?

At times: Talwin (pentazocine) is a good pain med the IM, IV, and SC route and works well most of the time. The oral med is fairly good at pain control and has naloxone in it as it is a product for abuse so the added me inhibits its effect and makes it not usable as a illegal use. Everyone is a individual and their responses vary so in most cases it can work well. Watch kidney function. Hope this is helpful.
