Narcotic: Talwin (pentazocine) is a narcotic mixed with another medication for moderate to severe pain. You didn't mention what the second medication is; if it is also a narcotic, you should not take them together.

Question?: What was your question? I dont think you need to different narcotic analgesics. Talwin (pentazocine) is on the weaker end of the spectrum.
