A member asked:

I was diagnosed with kidney stones and prescribed talwin (pentazocine) nx 50/0.5. why isn't it working?

Kidney stone: Pain from kidney stones is generally very severe. I presume the talwin (pentazocine) was for this pain and the dose given did not handle the pain. It may be you need a bigger dose or a more potent pain reliever. You should be discussing this with your doctor.
