Injectable contracep: DepoProvera should be given within 5 days of the start of menses. If you were not already pregnant, it is protective almost right away. Remember that DepoProvera is good protection against pregnancy for 13 weeks but not against STI/STDs. Check a pregnancy test if you are in doubt.
