No Urine to ER: The feeling of needing to urinate can be due to urethra inflammation. I know not how long he has not urinated. If no urination for 12-24 hrs he should be taken to an Emergency room that can perform diagnostic studies to include CT scan & Pelvic Ultra-sound as soon as possible. You describe no pain in back(kidney region), nor meds he takes. Bladder stones blocking outlet must be R/O & others..
