A member asked:

My 2 year old son has high temperature. doctor said it's a virus so no antibiotics needed, but he's had temperature now for 3 days! is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common: A febrile viral illness in a kid is seldom gone overnight. Most last 3-5 days and a few last up to a week .Keep track of the kids fluid intake and activity. If he takes fluids okay and plays some, you can monitor this for a few days. If he is stable for a while but seems to get worse = activity and fluid intake declines it may be changing into something else. Then a recheck would be needed.
