Better to Avoid: 25 y/o female asks How long does Benadryl (diphenhydramine) stay in breast milk? Would it be safe to take occasionally while nursing my 16 month old? The main issue is why mother is taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) in the first place. Granted only about 2% of what mother takes gets into breast milk in general better to avoid sedatives as Baby's Brain is still Developing. Best to ask Baby's Pediatrician.
