What's the difference between influenza & getting a cold. or are they the same ?

Not the same.: Common cold is caused by a variety of viruses. Influenza is a viral illness caused by specific types of viruses and cause a more serious illness, sometimes involving organ systems other than the respiratory tract. Fortunately, vaccines are available, although they are not 100% effective.
