A member asked:

I was disconnected during private consult. is it ever possible for hiv to transmit after it has been on public surface? for ex. you touch fluid without noticing then with that finger touch the inside of your vaginal eyes or nose?

Almost certainly, no: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/policies/law/risk.html provides an informative reference for HIV transmission rates. To put your situation in perspective, a woman having unprotected vaginal sex with an HIV positive male one time will have about a 0.1% (1/1000) chance of developing HIV from the encounter. Risk from "throwing body fluids" including semen is considered too low to measure.

Unlikely: Unlikely but yes it is possible. HIV does not last long outside the body, unlike hepatitis.
