Second opinion: Bakers cysts can definitely be removed and it is not uncommon to have to do so. The bigger question is are you having enough trouble with it to have it removed. They are also sometimes associated with an internal derangement in the knee and so an MRI can provide more information. If you want it removed and the surgeon is unwilling, consider a second opinion.
