Put a lot of black pepper on food. took a bite and started coughing, thinking i inhaled some of the pepper? is this dangerous? will it affect my lungs

Cough reflex.: Sounds like your protective cough mechanism kicked in, which is geared to protect the lungs from insults such as this. Chances are your lungs are just fine. Not uncommon with pepper, though.
