A member asked:

Hemoglobin is normal, ferritin is 41.. could this cause fatigue? my doc likes it to be between 70-110 even though normal range is 10-232. thoughts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I'm afraid not: Low-normal iron stores without anemia have not been causally linked to fatigue, and iron supplementation without a deficiency has not been shown to help anything (except restless leg syndrome). While it's very tempting to attribute fatigue to a single correctable medical cause, the vast majority of the time the answer lies in dietary and exercise changes as well as stress reduction.
