It's not needed: Doctors know that some patients have higher blood pressures in the clinic. Usually, we have the patients do a blood pressure diary at home to record home blood pressures and show us the numbers. That being said, if a person has high blood pressures in the clinic, she may have high pressures at work. So, a diary of blood pressures in stressful places can help guide treatment too.
