Numb thumb: Numbness is usually from nerve compression , if it was compressed a long time may take even a few days. Check for pulse and capillary refill ( if you press turns white and on relase turns pink) motrin/ aleve/ ASA if not allergic- may decrease the swelling , ASA also decreases miniclots. Would follow up with doc may want to try diltizem an anti-spasm. Check for MS. If cold thumb go to ER NOW
