Check for passage: Usually small metal objects pass through on their own. If you haven't seen the stud in your stools, you can get an abdominal xray that will confirm if it is still in your bowels, and a followup xray to show that it is moving through. If it is still there after many days, it might need to be removed by endoscopy.
