Herpes eye cure?: It is unlikely there will ever be a complete cure for herpetic eye disease. Herpes is an endemic virus in our population. The virus is dormant in most people. The virus 'hangs out' in the nerves behind the eye. A stressor (emotional, physical, sunburn, etc.) is usually an inciting factor for the expression of the disease. My opinion is that genetic research may find a way to vaccinate or inhibit.
