39 weeks: Hospitals in the US do not allow induction of labor before 39 completed weeks without an indication - being uncomfortable is not likely to pass as an indication. This policy comes from an observation that babies born before 39 weeks are admitted to neonatal intensive care units often than those, who were born after 39 weeks - and NICU stay is expensive.

Not a good idea...: You can talk to your midwife about it; however, its really not wise to try and go into labor at 36 weeks. Your baby is not ready to be born and its lungs may not be mature. It would be best to wait until you are at least 39 weeks. Best wishes!
