If you have symptoms: of gallstone disease, such as pain and fatty food intolerance, you might need a cholecystectomy, depending on severity. This is a very common operation which can be performed through laparoscopy with minimal risk and morbidity.

Possible polp: You may have a gallbladder polyp or sticky round sludge in the gallbladder. A reasonable approach is a followup gallbladder ultrasound in 6 months. If this is done make sure you are fasting for at least 8 hours before the exam and ask for color doppler of the gallbladder abnormality if it is seen again. Polyps can have blood flow in them on doppler while sludge will not.
