TRIGGER POINT: Tender knots of muscle are referred to as trigger points . You need an exam and labs. Especially check Thyroid and Vit D levels. Multiple trigger points is considered Fibromyalgia , which can cause a chronic pain syndrome . An X-ray MRI may be needed to define the anatomy. PT with ROM exercises . TENS & US will help. Ir it persists you may need trigger point injections. MEDS: NSAID & Muscle relax.

Pain and swelling: Pain with swelling that persists can be indicative of a structural problem . Commonly in the area between the spine and shoulder blade it is a consequence of a sprain or strained muscle. Relief with any NSAIDs also suggests muscle or tendon inflammation.if the condition persists beyond 7-10 days get it evaluated
