Need work-up: First of all, an US 2 yr ago is not relevant to your issues today. Secondly, ovaries can be checked in pregnancy, but only early on. They become difficult to visualize after the first trimester. If you are having lower quadrant pain, a pelvic or transvaginal US can be ordered. Not usually ordered for upper quadrant pain, but of course that depends on your presentation during an exam.
