No: A goiter has many causes, the most common world wide, but not in Texas would be iodine deficiency, followed by auto-immune thyroid disease or a nodular goiter. On the other hand if you have an over active thyroid this could lead to a goiter and anxiety/stress. You need to have your thyroid function evaluated and likely an US. An endocrinologist should be able to sort things out pretty quick.

NO: A GOITER IS AN ENLARGEMENT OF THE THYROID GLAND DUE TO IODINE DEFICIENCY OR HYPOTHYRODISM. ANXIETY AND STRESS DO NOT CAUSE GOITERS.
