Prednisone: Limited information indicates that maternal doses of prednisone up to 20 mg produce low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. With high maternal doses avoiding breastfeeding for 3-4 hrs after a dose should decrease the dose received by the infant. However, this is not necessary in most cases. Temporary loss of milk supply might occur.

Prednisone and advil (ibuprofen): Agree about what Dr Bonilla wrote about prednisone and breastfeeding. Now about taking Advil (ibuprofen) and prednisone together: better be cautious, both irritate the stomach, increasing risk of GI bleed or gastritis, both can cause salt and water retention, increase blood pressure and cause edema, better space them, take a gut prophylaxis medication, and keep the dose to the minimum duration/amount
